I received this charming email from William Burns who has been nominated twice for his achievements and contributions to virtual worlds. He has asked for an update and I am delighted to post his request here below.

“Firstly, my nickname is Darian Knight (or Aeonix Aeon) Depending on which Virtual Environment I am participating in. My real name is William Burnshttp://network.associationofvirtualworlds.com/profile/WilliamGBurnsIII
I see it is more customary to submit real names than online nicknames, though the people who nominated me are accustomed to calling me Darian from working with me on projects and in virtual environments.

In terms of accomplishments, I’m a virtual environment veteran of 15 years, hold multiple awards for design and innovation. I’m an academic author with a collaborative book due out in July 2010 on the subject of Virtual Environments and E-Commerce. I’ve consulted for many industry companies in my time, and am currently participating in Pixel Labs in SecondLife to create a number of innovative products soon to be released. http://www.perpetualstudios.com/book/help/

I’m also (as the nominations hinted) the main designer and project leader behind Andromeda3D and Andromeda Underground whereby two innovative products are under development: Andromeda3D, being a completely new and innovative method by which to have a virtual environment, and Crossroads FTP – The first truly 3D FTP system meant to dynamically generate environments based on folder content in real time. I’ve even been the VP of Operations for Pulse Point Marketing (Originally working with the owners, Solange Benoir and Dante Honi, to teach them best practices in virtual environments as well as ensure a higher quality standard across the board). In the case of Pulse Point Marketing, I consider that a successful involvement on my part as they continue to work with large universities and corporate clients going forward.

I would rather have www.andromedaunderground.com listed as my web address in the nominations, because while I do have a person site of Andromeda3D.com, it’s the Andromeda Underground Team that I should be thankful for. The Andromeda3D.com site is merely a personal site which acts as a link to andromedaunderground.com – so if it is allowed, I would request that the web addresses in my nominations be changed to andromedaunderground.com

Thank you for your time, Edita! And I’ll be sure to thank those people for nominating me :)
